Total food industry deals for November 2020 worth $3.66bn were announced globally, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 31.6% over the previous month and a rise of 18.8% when compared with the last 12-month average of $3.08bn.

In terms of number of deals, the sector saw a drop of 25% over the last 12-month average with 51 deals against the average of 68 deals.

In value terms, North America led the activity with deals worth $2.59bn.

The combined value of the top five food deals stood at $2.73bn, against the overall value of $3.66bn recorded for the month.
