Food industry cross border venture financing deals total $1.02bn globally in Q1 2021

Total food industry cross border venture financing deals worth $1.02bn were announced globally in Q1 2021, led by $300m venture financing of Guoquan Shihui, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 390.4% over the previous quarter and a rise of 413.9% when compared with the last four-quarter average, which stood at $198.48m.

Comparing cross border deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals worth $512m in the period. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $512m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for food industry cross border venture financing deals globally, followed by Europe and then North America.

The top country in terms of cross border venture financing deals activity in Q1 2021 was the US with six deals, followed by the UK with three and Singapore with three.

In 2021, at the end of , cross border venture financing deals worth $1.02bn were announced globally in food industry, marking a decrease of 126.01% year on year.
