Food industry cross border deals total $1.8bn globally in July 2021

Total food industry cross border deals worth $1.8bn were announced globally for July 2021, with the $850m private equity deal with S.A. de, Almidones Mexicanos and DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio ProductsLLC being the sector’s biggest investment, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 137.8% over the previous month of $736.03m and a rise of 44.6% when compared with the last 12-month average of $1.21bn.

In terms of number of cross border deals, the sector saw a drop of 8.70% with 21 deals in July 2021 when compared to the last 12-month average of 23 deals.

In value terms, North America led the activity with cross border deals worth $850m in July 2021.

The top five cross border deals accounted for 97.6% of the overall value during July 2021.

The combined value of the top five cross border deals stood at $1.71bn, against the overall value of $1.8bn recorded for the month.
