Asia-Pacific’s food industry saw a rise of 11.54% in deal activity during October 2021, when compared with the last 12-month average, led by Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group’s $687.02m acquisition of Ausnutria Dairy, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

 

A total of 29 food industry deals worth $877.1m were announced for the region in October 2021, against the 12-month average of 26 deals.

Of all the deal types, venture financing saw most activity in October 2021 with 20 transactions, representing a 69% share for the region.

In second place was M&A with nine deals, followed by deals with transactions, respectively capturing a 31.03% and % share of the overall deal activity for the month.

In terms of value of deals, M&A was the leading category in Asia-Pacific’s food industry with $785.13m, while venture financing and deals totalled $91.97m and , respectively.
