Jointly organised by UBM EMEA and Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition, this year’s Hi China (HiC) exhibition successfully took place from 20 June to 22 June.
The organisers of the events were committed to creating a one-stop purchasing platform for the health ingredients (HiC) and nutraceuticals (HNC) industries. This year was a record-breaking edition with nearly 30,000m2 and 700 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions, including China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan), the US, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, India and Canada, as well as Thailand, Italy, the UK, and Greece.
The high international presence highlighted that more and more overseas companies are considered HiC as the platform for them to explore businesses opportunities in China.
According to the onsite surveys, many exhibitors secured new deals during the show and build many new connections. On top of this, many finished nutraceutical products exhibitors from HNC, also visited HiC and purchased health ingredients from exhibitors which indicated that HiC was able to assist exhibitors to network and connect with end-channel buyers directly.
2018 was a remarkable year for HiC 2018, which was co-located with Healthplex Expo 2018 Natural & Nutraceutical Products China 2018 (HNC 2018) and CPhI China 2018. The combined exhibitions gathered more than 4,000 exhibitors under one roof, and attracted 84,593 professional visitors.
According to the visitor surveys, more than 80% of the visitors were satisfied with the show and product profile, and more than 90% of them were very likely to recommend HiC to their colleagues or friends. This indicates that HiC has achieved great reputation within the industry.
Another highlight of this year’s edition was the number of conferences and activities, which offered the opportunities for attendees to grow their knowledge on the trends and developments in the industry, and connect and network with industry colleagues.
Some of the most popular features include the Nature, Health, Innovation-Functional Extracts Application Seminar in Health Industry (organised by Food Additives and Ingredients Industry of Zhejiang); The Plant-based Raw Material Boosting Function Food Market (organised by Herbridge); the International Omega-3 & Probiotic Industry Insights Seminar (organized by the US-China HPA; the FSMP & Omega-3 New Role Seminar; and The 5th Nutraceutical Industry Development Conference-China’s Market Entry Strategy for Foreign Dietary Supplements.
In 2019, HiC will move to a brand new venue (National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Shanghai, China).
Some additional good news is that in 2019, Fi Asia-China, a brand for the food and beverage ingredients industry with a history of 20 years, will once again take place alongside HiC. The exhibitions will be co-located with HNC (nutraceutical), ProPak (food processing and packaging), and Starch (starches and derivate) to create a one-stop purchasing platform for the entire food and health industry chain.
On top of this, HiC will cooperate with many associations, institutes and media partners to organise hundreds of topic-focused sessions, conferences and activities to provide suppliers and buyers with one better platform for networking.
