A new ‘Guide to Pulse Width Modulated Flow Control’ has been introduced by Spraying Systems Co. This technical manual explains how PWM flow control regulates flow by adjusting an electrically-actuated nozzle’s duty cycle and frequency rather than by changing liquid pressure. Using PulsaJet® spray nozzles and AutoJet® spray controllers, nozzle flow rate can be changed instantaneously to adjust for line speed changes – without affecting spray angle and drop size.
PWM flow control allows a wide range of flow rates from a single nozzle and can also reduce clogging by producing very low flow rates with larger, clog-resistant spray nozzles. The new guide provides examples of how and where PWM flow control is currently being used to optimise manufacturing and processing operations.
Spraying Systems Co. is the global leader in spray technology. It has the broadest product range in the industry with several manufacturing facilities and sales offices in more than 85 countries.
