Visitors at Pack Expo EAST 2015 will have the chance to question TOMRA Sorting Food employees about their broad portfolio of cutting-edge sorting and peeling equipment, later this month.
TOMRA will be exhibiting at booth 1039 from 16-18 February at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, US.
The team will be on-hand to answer questions about food quality and production line issues, as well as discuss the breadth of TOMRA’s sorting and peeling applications.
TOMRA Sorting Food sales manager Americas and Oceania Karel Strubbe said: "TOMRA Sorting Food offers the widest range of sorting and peeling solutions available in the industry today, from applications for fresh whole products to ones for processed food.
"We use a variety of sensors that have many different physical sensing properties and which go far beyond the common use of colour cameras. With a wide range of technologies, TOMRA Sorting Food can resolve any sorting challenge to optimise the end product and remove defects and foreign material from production lines.
"We understand that there isn’t a singular technology or machine that works for every application but we can develop a system that is tailored to the needs of our customers, ultimately helping them to boost their throughput, yield and profit whilst driving up food quality and safety."
The company’s sorting range includes the Blizzard free-fall sorter for the individually quick frozen (IQF) vegetable and fruit processing market, the Falcon pre-sorting machine for the fresh-cut industry and the Genius optical belt sorting machine. The Genius is suitable for sorting fresh-cut produce, vegetables, nuts, fruit, seafood and potato products, and uses a combination of technologies to separate foreign material and produce with defects.
TOMRA’s steam peelers peel potatoes, root vegetables and fruit faster and more efficiently than any other currently available and customers benefit from significant savings in raw material and energy costs. The range includes the Eco-steam peeler, Dry Peel Separator (DPS) and Orbit steam peeler.
Pack Expo EAST brings together top-tier processing and packaging suppliers from a variety of sectors including grocery, meat and poultry, grain, bakery, dairy, confectionery and prepared foods. The event focuses on advanced processing and packaging solutions and includes a number of education sessions and conferences.
