Sartorius worked together with leading users in the food industry and at institutes to develop the first load cell to meet their demands. Sartorius recently launched the PR 6202 Hygienic Load Cell, the first of its kind to consistently fulfil the requirements of hygienic design. It is available for the following load levels: 1t, 2t, 4t, 6t, 10t, 25t and 50t.
The PR 6202 not only had to withstand leak testing lasting more than 10,000 gruelling hours under water at a depth of 1.5m, but also stand up to the ‘punishment’ of 100 hours of vibration testing at 20 times the gravitational acceleration over a broad frequency range, without letting up on performance. Moreover, the PR6202 proved its ruggedness by a 56-day temperature fluctuation test, in which it was alternately exposed to changes in the entire range from –40°C to +95°C (-40°F to +203°F), as well as a load test involving two million load changes at the full nominal capacity.
The PR 6202 Hygienic Load Cell redefines the standard for load cells used in the food industry and other branches with similarly high requirements on cleanability and reliability. As it is the first load cell to have been designed according to the stringent EHEDG requirements, it therefore offers a genuine alternative to conventional solutions.
