Ishida Europe will showcase its latest weighing and quality control capabilities at this year’s Macropak, with a model from its market-leading X-ray range and a multihead weigher specially designed for smaller products and target weights.
The CCW-R-214-08 Small Hopper weigher can handle small items, including confectionery, snacks, nuts and seeds, at target weights between 5g and 500g at speeds of up to 210wpm depending on the application. The hopper features the traditional circular multihead weigher design incorporating proven Ishida technology, which includes Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), an enhanced Anti-Floor Vibration (AFV) system, a high-speed five-stage digital filter, and a new combination calculation algorithm using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Technology, and delivers high speeds, excellent accuracy and efficiency levels close to 100%.
The Ishida IX-GA-4075 X-ray system incorporates unique self-learning Genetic Algorithm (GA) technology, which offers maximum detection sensitivity and reliability, detecting impurities such as metal, glass, bones, shells, stones, hard rubber and plastic down to 0.3mm in size. The machine is also able to distinguish between ‘legitimate’ metal, such as clips or aluminium tins, while still monitoring and identifying unwanted items.
In addition, thanks to its sensitivity and accuracy, the system can also be used for an increasing number of quality control operations such as product grading by length, presence of clips, voids in product, product deformation, missing or damaged pieces, presence of bottle caps and fill-level control. Recent examples of the X-ray machine’s capabilities include detecting the absence of a wooden ice cream stick and assessing the maturity of cheese.
Ishida Europe’s products will be showcased at the Macropak trade show at the Jaarbeurs exhibition centre in Utrecht, the Netherlands, between 30 September and 3 October.
