Ishida Europe’s latest innovations in quality control systems and the company’s ability to tailor solutions for a huge variety of food packing applications will be the key themes of the company’s stand at this year’s Foodex.
On show will be models from Ishida’s market-leading checkweigher and X-ray ranges, while video screens will run demonstrations of packing line solutions for products such as meat, poultry, fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen foods, snacks and confectionery.
Ishida’s IX-GA-4075 high-performance X-ray inspection system can reliably detect even tiny amounts of foreign bodies down to 0.3mm in size, such as steel, aluminium, tin, glass, stones, hard rubber, plastic, some bones and shell.
The machine features Ishida’s unique genetic algorithm (GA) technology which enables operators to ‘train’ the X-ray system for greater sensitivity to specific contaminants. In addition, it can spot missing, undersized and mis-shaped items or damaged products, and the software allows product masking and weight estimations.
The DACS-G checkweigher is capable of exceptional speeds while maintaining high accuracy, and, at the touch of a button, can switch between two weighing ranges, allowing food manufacturers to handle more products on one machine. The model at Foodex will be demonstrated with a reject failsafe system to help food processors comply with latest supermarket codes of practice.
Like all models in the DACS range, the new DACS-G can be easily integrated with its enhanced Ishida Data Capture System (IDCS II), a user-friendly, secure software programme that records the data of every pack weighed from up to 100 checkweighers into a single secure database. IDCS II offers an extensive range of reporting options to enable production managers to employ state-of-the-art monitoring for legislative compliance while also identifying cost saving opportunities, minimising product giveaway and improving production efficiencies.
