Some of the most recent developments in quality control, weighing and tray sealing technology from Ishida Europe will be on show at Emballage 2012, highlighting the company’s ability to provide complete weighing and packing line solutions for a variety of markets.
Alongside a new state-of-the-art version of its market-leading QX-775 tray sealer, Ishida will be exhibiting its latest checkweigher, a high-performance x-ray inspection system and a variety of models from its extensive multihead weigher range.
The QX-775-Flex combines a compact design with high speeds for MAP (modified atmosphere packaging) trays of up to 15 cycles per minute, along with maximum hygiene and high quality pack and product presentation. The system is also compatible with applications such as skinpack and shrink film, making it ideal for all types of ready meals, meat, poultry, fish and salads. The new tray sealer offers a high return on floor space through its compact design and high output capability, and can also be easily integrated to form part of a complete packing line.
Quality control solutions on display include Ishida’s latest checkweigher, the DACS-G, which features a new Ishida-designed, exceptionally fast and accurate loadcell that is able to operate with great reliability in the harshest of environments. It can also switch between two weighing capacities to allow a larger product range to be packed on one line. All DACS checkweighers are available with the Ishida data capture system (IDCS), a user-friendly, secure software programme that can record the data of every pack weighed from up to 100 checkweighers into a single secure database for effective production monitoring.
Ishida will also be demonstrating a model of its IX-GA range of high performance X-ray inspection systems. The IG-GA range can reliably detect even tiny amounts of foreign bodies down to 0.3mm in size, such as steel, aluminium, tin, glass, stones, hard rubber, plastic, some bones and shell, while Ishida’s unique genetic algorithm (GA) technology enables any operator to ‘train’ the X-ray system for greater sensitivity to specific contaminants. It can also spot missing, undersized and mis-shaped items or damaged products and the software allows product masking and weight estimations.
Multihead weighing technology on show includes the CCW R-112 linear multihead weigher for the high-speed weighing of high-value, small target weight applications such as coated nuts and confectionery. The design features radial feeder troughs arranged in a straight line with short drop distances, making this an ideal choice for fragile products as well as for weigh-counting exact number of pieces into a pack.
Part of the advanced Ishida R series of multihead weighers, the R-112, also benefits from proven Ishida features such as pulse width modulation (PWM), anti-floor vibration (AFV), a high speed five-stage digital filtering, and its unique combination calculation algorithm using field programmable gate array (FPGA) technology, all of which help to deliver high speeds at un-surpassed weighing accuracy and efficiency levels close to 100%.
Another model of Ishida’s CCW-R range on display is a screw feeder weigher with 5 litre hoppers. This model has been specifically designed for large target weights of sticky, difficult-to-handle fresh products, and features rotating metal spirals that provide a powerful, controlled and fully automatic product feed to the hoppers.
The CCW-M-112 FFW (fresh food weigher) offers a linear multihead design fed by belts from an infeed table with an operator able to adjust the flow of product. This makes it ideal for fresh sticky products, such as diced and minced meat, poultry, fish and fruit, where frequent product changeovers are needed.
