‘Probably, the most cleanable plastic modular belt in the industry’ is how Sander Bakker, Ammeraal Beltech’s Meat, Poultry & Seafood industry segment manager defines the global belting company’s latest innovation, the uni Ultra Clean Belt (UCB), particularly for food and food packaging tasks.
It will be launched at the International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, Georgia, at the end of January.
No compromise on hygiene
The uni Ultra Clean Belt UCB, as its name indicates, sets new standards in belt hygiene and it partners with the acclaimed and popular uni UltraClean Two-Part Sprocket, launched last year.
The hygiene-focused design of the UCB belt features hybrid hinges, which serve a dual purpose: to deliver good water flow for cleaning around the hinges and pins when opened on the back of the belt and, when closed, to prevent food loss into the hinges around the sprockets. The UCB’s health and safety features make it a prime choice for moving foods of all kinds, from meat and fish to bakery items.
High performance, lower energy usage
The UCB offers impressive performance at a remarkably light weight, and matches the performance levels of heavier belts. It is easy to operate, maintain, and clean, and also meets demands in today’s business environment for a lower CO2 footprint, lower water and cleaning chemicals consumption, and a reduced manpower requirement for maintenance. The light weight of the belting also enables OEMs to engineer lighter conveyor frames and use a lighter drive system. The UCB is nevertheless a strong belt, and can transport over one tonne per metre width without compromising its significantly reduced energy requirement.
Proven in technical tests
During in-depth independent wash-down testing of a selection of commonly available food belt designs conducted by the Center for Hygienic Design at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), the uni UCB Ultra Clean Belt proved itself to be the most hygienic belt for food-industry use.
See it in action at IPPE
Ammeraal Beltech will be demonstrating the uni Ultra Clean Belt at IPPE, on Stand B-7077, 28-30 January, and the team looks forward to welcoming visitors to view this major innovation, as well as their extensive range of established belting solutions. As Sander Bakker comments: ‘I believe that the combination of the belt with our UltraClean Two-Part Sprocket actually together represent a significant advance,
delivering unparalleled hygiene benefits, especially for all participants in the food industry value chain’.
