Palsgaard is pleased to announce that the company has been certified by the RSPO Supply Chain Certification Standard on 30 March 2012.
The RSPO certification allows Palsgaard to offer mass balance certified products to its customers.
That Palsgaard has become mass-balance-certified means that the company has implemented the administrative system defined by the RSPO, ensuring that an amount of certified sustainable palm oil has been produced corresponding to the amount of palm oil in the product supplied by Palsgaard.
Palsgaard believes that future trends and requirements from its customers and interest groups are urgently heading towards sustainable raw materials and hence finished products. This is why the emulsifier company has taken the first step in the RSPO Supply Chain certification level. RSPO certification makes it possible to state a claim on the final product label, thereby assuring the customer that he has a choice when picking up his consumer goods from the supermarket shelves.
It is important for Palsgaard to take part in promoting a sustainable process throughout the supply chain of palm oil and palm derivatives. Palsgaard is already financially supporting the sustainable growth and processing of palm oil through its membership of the RSPO. The company, founded more than100 years ago, has a deep rooted culture of social and environmental consideration, which is why it has chosen to start manufacturing select products on responsible grown and processed palm raw materials.
Palsgaard began working systematically with its corporate culture and responsible approach in 2010 and subsequently published its first CSR report in 2011. One of the objectives on the company’s CSR agenda is to increase the share of certified palm oil and derivatives thereof in its palm based emulsifiers to 100% by 2015.
