Palsgaard has opened a new esterification plant and increased the production of these types of emulsifiers by 500%. The esterification plant is part of an overall investment plan.
Food manufacturers continuously look for the best buying opportunities, encouraging suppliers to constantly optimise production units and adjust production capacities to match the demand.
Asked about the reason behind the expansion of the production facilities at Palsgaard, Jakob Thoisen, sales director, stated, "The new esterification plant allows Palsgaard to meet an increasing demand from customers in need of rather large volumes of these particular types of emulsifiers."
Large food manufacturers of important trade marks are dependent on 100% stable production and have to rely on their raw materials suppliers. Ingredients suppliers are therefore met with demands to an absolutely homogeneous quality in raw materials, explains Jakob Thoisen, "The new state-of-the-art production facilities represent the latest in process controlling, enabling Palsgaard to continue manufacturing homogeneous products without deviations from batch to batch."
The esterification plant is the recent step in an investment plan initiated in 2004. The investments include among others the building of a spray-cooling-tower, an extruder factory, a distillation plant, a ‘green energy’ heating system, a factory in Holland and an expansion of the warehouse facilities in Denmark. So far, the investment amounts to more than €50 million.
