With growing consciousness about the impact of protein production on the planet and our bodies, the market for plant-based meat alternatives is in full bloom. We’re proud to support our partners exploring its new possibilities with a range of naturally sourced, super stable colours that are proving just as effective as other options in meeting consumers’ demands for clean label ingredients that maintain an authentic look and taste while holding up to the rigours of food processing and cooking. In a recent test on plant-based meats, we found that our lycopene-derived colours outperformed both beet and iron oxide colourants in process stability and in providing true-to-life, appetising hues, while demonstrating colour stability to meet standard shelf life and beyond.
If you’re looking to enter into or learn about the latest trends in the plant-based meat sector, we invite you to hear our own Global Head of Coloration and Real Food Ingredients, Tammi Higgins, give a talk entitled ‘True colors to reflect the great taste of your meat-free products’ on 25 June at the Bridge2Food Virtual 15th Plant-Based Foods & Proteins Summit North America 2020.
