US firm Sunrise Strategic Partners invests in family-owned Kodiak Cakes

US-based accelerator of emerging brands Sunrise Strategic Partners has made a minority investment in Kodiak Cakes, a family-owned producer of syrups, pancake/waffle mixes and flapjack/muffin cups.

Financial details of the investment have not been disclosed by the company.

Since being established earlier this year, this marks the fourth investment by Sunrise.

The investment made by Sunrise will be used to expedite growth by increasing distribution to new channels, as well as for supporting innovation and expanding the Kodiak Cakes team.

The company claims that it uses 100% whole grains and infuses protein into the mixes, as well as meets the consumer demand for higher protein and better alternatives to traditional foods.
