M&As this week: Nature’s Path Foods, B&G Foods

Canadian organic food manufacturer Nature's Path Foods has acquired a 51% stake in Gorilly Goods to enhance its business in North America.

Organic snacks producer Gorilly Goods will continue to be headquartered in Wisconsin, US, following the transaction.

Frozen food manufacturer B&G Foods will acquire the spices and seasonings business of ACH Food Companies in a $365m all-cash transaction.

The acquisition is subject to post-closing inventory adjustment and expected to be closed during the fourth quarter of this year after gaining regulatory approvals.

The company will acquire the Spice Islands, Tone’s and Durkee brands, as well as Weber brand of sauces and seasonings.

A manufacturing facility in Ankeny, Iowa, US, will also be acquired by B&G Foods as part of the deal.

ACH Food Companies is a leading provider of spices and seasonings to retail and food service customers.
