Graham Partners invests in Mercer Foods

US-based private investment firm Graham Partners has invested in freeze-dried foods producer Mercer.

Financial details of the deal have not been revealed by either company.

Graham Partners concentrates on businesses with advanced manufacturing technologies, innovative product development capabilities, and strong growth potential.

Graham Partners managing principal Andrew Snyder said: “Mercer is a strategic fit for the Graham portfolio due to industry overlap with several of Graham’s portfolio companies, providing parallel access to industry expertise and familiarity with macro trends and existing and potential customers.

“Together, we see opportunities to enter new markets and channels with a goal of offering consumers a broader selection of higher quality, more nutritious food.”

Mercer serves a variety of end markets within the food products industry.

It also holds food quality and safety certifications such as USDA Certified Organic and Safe Quality Food Level 3.

Graham’s investment in Mercer focuses on capitalising on opportunities available in the freeze-dried food industry, as consumers are increasingly seeking clean label, healthy foods that are ideal for on-the-go lifestyles.
