M&As this week: O’Brien Fine Foods, Hochland SE

O’Brien Fine Foods has announced its decision to acquire cooked meats plant operator Faughan Foods from Hogan's Farm for €5m ($5.32m).

O’Brien Fine Foods is a producer of cooked meats and breakfast products, while Hogan's Farm is a meats supplier.

All companies involved in the transaction are based in Ireland.

The deal will enable O’Brien to develop white meat offerings for the Ireland market.

Germany-based cheese producer Hochland SE has announced the acquisition of a 100% stake in Franklin Foods Holdings.

A cheese products manufacturer in the US, Franklin will function as a subsidiary of Hochland following the acquisition.

The purchase will enable Hochland to strengthen its European brands in the US.
