Deals this week: Prinova, Alibaba

US-based food ingredients supplier Prinova has reached an agreement to acquire the China and UK-based premix operations of Lycored.

The facilities to be acquired supply premixes used by food companies to strengthen their products with nutrients, including vitamins and minerals.

Following the transaction, Prinova will have six manufacturing facilities in three continents.

Driscoll’s and Chicken of the Sea will supply their food products, including fresh strawberries and high-quality seafood, to China through a partnership with Alibaba.

The products will be sold directly on Alibaba’s Tmall platform.

Both Driscoll’s and Chicken of the Seas are based in the US.
