Deals this week: Pickles Corporation, Farmer Bros

Japan-based food manufacturer Pickles Corporation has reached an agreement to sell its fruit and vegetable unit Prefectural West Central Fruit.

Coffee supplier Farmer Bros has agreed to acquire all the assets of Boyd Coffee, a coffee roasting company, for approximately $58.6m.

Farmer Bros will pay up to $42m in cash, in addition to 21,000 shares of a new series of preferred stock with an estimated value of $16.6m.

Farmer Bros. has engaged Latham & Watkins as its legal adviser for the transaction.

Both the companies participating in the transaction are based in the US.
