Europe’s food industry saw a drop of 8.00% in deal activity during October 2021, when compared with the last 12-month average, led by Ambrosia Investments AM, Gullspang Invest , Kinnevik and Temasek Investments’ $100m acquisition of LUB Foods USA, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

 

A total of 23 food industry deals worth $172m were announced for the region in October 2021, against the 12-month average of 25 deals.

Of all the deal types, venture financing saw most activity in October 2021 with ten transactions, representing a 43.5% share for the region.

In second place was M&A with nine deals, followed by private equity deals with four transactions, respectively capturing a 39.1% and 17.4% share of the overall deal activity for the month.

In terms of value of deals, venture financing was the leading category in Europe’s food industry with $172.01m, while M&A and private equity deals totalled $0m and $0m, respectively.
