Food industry venture financing deals total $216.6m globally in August 2021

The $53.27m venture financing of V2 Food was the food industry’s top venture financing deal as total deals worth $216.6m were announced globally in August 2021, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 55.2% over the previous month of $483.86m and a drop of 42.8% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $378.53m.

Comparing venture financing deals value in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $102.64m. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $84.9m.

In terms of volumes, Asia-Pacific emerged as the top region for food industry venture financing deals globally, followed by North America and then Europe.

The top country in terms of venture financing deals activity in August 2021 was the China with 15 deals, followed by the US with 11 and Australia with three.

In 2021, as of August, food venture financing deals worth $3.72bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 38.8% year on year.
