PerkinElmer introduces new solution for quality control in food production

US-based company PerkinElmer has launched its new Cloud-based software solution, known as DA 7350 instrument and Process Plus, for quality control in food production.

The solution offers continuous quality control for food and food ingredient manufacturing processes

PerkinElmer claims that its new software has been designed to help food manufacturers reduce waste, increase product consistency and productivity, as well as reduce costs.

The company further added that its solution can be implemented across meat, dairy, seafood, produce, edible oils and cannabis segments.

PerkinElmer Food vice-president and general manager Greg Sears said: “Consumers demand a certain level of quality and consistency from their favourite food brands and producers want to create products that meet specifications, productivity goals and consumer expectations at the same time.

“Our DA 7350 solution helps food manufacturers get the right information at the right time so they can make necessary course corrections and keep efficiency, quality and cost savings on track.”

Using camera and NIR technology, the new software has the potential to measure key production line parameters such as moisture, protein, fat and ash content, in real-time.

The company further explained that its Process Plus software captures the information and send it to the factory control systems, control room monitors or any plant-approved, web-enabled devices.

It enables the production team to make changes for drying, conditioning/hydration or stream blend ratios according to requirements.

Additionally, the new software is said to have the capacity to manage even the complex production lines as it can be deployed at various line simultaneously and independently measure, as well as control quality parameters across a plant’s production lines.
