Else Nutrition receives positive result in regulatory assessment

Israel-based food and nutrition company Else Nutrition has received favourable results in a regulatory assessment for its toddler formula ingredients.

Founded in 2018, the company manufactures plant-based food and nutrition products for infants, toddlers and children, as well as adults.

EAS Consulting Group carried out the assessment. It reviewed the Else formula to ensure that they are in line with guidelines and requirements set by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).

Else Clinical Development, Regulatory and Scientific Affairs director Dr Fabiana Bar-Yoseph said: “The EAS Infant Formula Team has confirmed that Else toddler formula intended to be marketed in the US meets the regulatory requirements for general food as required for a toddler formula.

“This regulatory validation marks a significant step as we look to bring a nutritious, plant-based toddler formula to the US market.”

Else plans to launch its toddler nutrition products in the second quarter of 2020.

Based in Tel-Aviv, Israel, Else created a plant-based baby formula using protein-rich almonds and buckwheat, which is free from purified oil blends.

It has said that its baby formula product is free from dairy, soy and contains no hormones, antibiotics, gluten and GMO.

In June, the nutrition company began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange and raised C$7.5m ($5.6m).

Canaccord Genuity raised capital that allowed the company to begin production ramp-up and go-to-market preparations.
