By combining industry knowledge, project management expertise and cost-competitive delivery capabilities, Propack focuses on delivering processing systems that meet the customer’s requirements throughout the lifecycle of their projects.
“I found Propack at INTERPHEX,” says Rusty Nelson, VP and general manager of DJA. “They make multi-mixers, multi-mixing vessels. They do everything from sterile blending to bio-reactors, to applications for inhalers, liquid syrups and oil processing plants. They process the liquids.
“They even do machines for ice cream and other things. They also cover agrochemicals, beverages with breweries and distilleries. Plus paints, resins, consumer goods, cosmetics. Anything you want to process with liquid, they can do.”
Sterile blending vessels for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical applications
Propack’s sterile blending equipment is suitable for mixing a wide range of liquids in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical applications.
The company’s solutions are capable of blending vaccines, solutions for parenteral drugs (LVP and SVP), IV fluids and serums. In addition, they can process human insulin, bacteria and cell cultures, aerosols and medicine casings such as vials and ampoules.
Propack’s blending vessels are designed to deliver assured sterility and mixing capabilities that avoid contamination.
cGMP-compliant processing facilities for healthcare and medicines
Propack’s solutions are designed to process an array of creams and ointments in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as beauty products such as toothpaste, gels and shampoos.
Adhering to current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), the company’s processing plants feature seamless, internally electro-polished pipelines, jacketed vessels for heating and cooling processes, along with a load cell for precise weighing. They can be controlled via supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) or a programmable logic controller.
Metered dose inhalers
Propack’s range of metered dose inhalers (MDIs) are suitable for dispensing nebulizers, sublingual medications, skin sprays such as coolants and anaesthetics, and similar pharmaceutical aerosols and high-fluid content (HFA) type products.
The manufacturer’s MDIs offer a high-pressure vessel with an ASME-compliant design, a rapture disc for pressure safety and a mechanical seal for stirrers.
Propack also supplies the necessary MDI validation and documentation.
Liquid and syrup processing solutions
Suitable for processing drop solutions, antacid suspensions, liquids, cough syrups and expectorants, Propack’s CE-Marked equipment includes liquid manufacturing systems, filtration machinery, and transfer systems for glucose and sugars.
Documents for design qualification (DQ), factory acceptance testing (FAT), installation qualifications (IQ) and operational qualification (OQ) are also available on request.
The company develops automated critical process equipment for a wide range of products such as dairy items, chocolate, inhalers, disinfectants and condiments.
These systems are suitable for operations in the cosmetics, brewing and agrochemical industries.
Automated CIP and SIP systems
Propack’s clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilisation-in-place (SIP) systems feature cGMP-compliant sanitary designs and manufactured according to the client’s requirements.
Their automation capabilities adhere to the US’ Medicines Control Agency (MCA) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Arranged through DJA, the company can offer site installation and commissioning services, GMP documentation, and documented output of cleaning and sterilisation cycles.
Propack’s portfolio comprises innovative, high-quality equipment that features manufacturing technologies and innovative designs, which comply with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers: Bioprocessing Equipment (ASME BPE) and the latest Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMPs).
“What Propack do forms a very large part of a lot of manufacturing,” adds Rusty Nelson. “To have quality machines you can trust that are going to do the job for you, fermenting and so on, is something that you have to have. If you want a sterile solution, it’s got to be sterile.”
