Conagra’s Reddi-wip brand launches two non-dairy whipped toppings

Reddi-wip, a brand of US-based Conagra Brands, has introduced two plant-based, non-dairy varieties into its whipped topping range known as Reddi-wip Non-Dairy Coconut and Reddi-wip Non-Dairy Almond.

The new products are intended to address the growing consumer demand for non-dairy options across the larger dairy segment.

Conagra Brands refrigerated and frozen division president Ryan Clark said: “We’ve seen tremendous growth in non-dairy, plant-based foods due to consumers’ dietary restrictions and changing taste preferences.

“This is an exciting innovation for Reddi-wip that addresses this broader consumer demand and the requests we’ve received from consumers asking us to bring a non-dairy variety to market.”

The new flavour options are claimed to be gluten-free and comprise 10 calories per serving.

They are also noted to be free of artificial flavours and preservatives.

Reddi-wip Non-Dairy Coconut and Reddi-wip Non-Dairy Almond are planned to be rolled out to retailers across the US in the coming months.

The products will be sold at a suggested retail price (SRP) of $3.99 for a 6oz can.

The launch of the plant-based varieties follows a number of recent changes to the Reddi-wip brand that addressed consumer’s growing ingredient transparency requirements, including the inclusion of natural flavours and cream from cows that have not been treated with artificial growth hormone (rBST) in the original dairy varieties.

Conagra Brands is headquartered in Chicago, US, and offers a wide range of food products under various brand names such as Marie Callender’s, Reddi-wip, Hunt’s, Healthy Choice, Slim Jim and Orville Redenbacher’s.
