M&As this week: Orienta Partners, Aksia Capital IV Fund, Iceland Seafood International

A group of investors led by private equity firm Orienta Partners has acquired frozen baked goods producer Fratelli Bassini.

All parties involved in the transaction are based in Italy.

Aksia Capital IV Fund has acquired 100% interest in piadine, tigelle and pizza bases producer, CRM.

Aksia Capital IV an equity fund of private equity firm Aksia Group.

The legal advisors to Aksia are Accinni Cartolano e Associati and Russo De Rosa Associati, while the financial advisor is Ernst & Young Global Ltd.

The deal will strengthen CRM’s position in both the regional and international markets.

All entities involved in the acquisition are based in Italy.

Iceland Seafood International has signed an agreement to purchase 67% interest in Oceanpath Seafood Limited.

The transaction value ranges from €12.4m ($15.27m) to €13.4m ($16.51m) on a debt and cash-free basis.

Following the deal, Oceanpath’s management will hold the remaining 33% stake in the company.

Iceland Seafood International is an Iceland-based producer and processor of seafood, while Oceanpath Seafood is a fresh and smoked seafood provider based in Ireland.

The acquisition is in line with Iceland Seafood’s inorganic growth strategy aimed at the acquisition of first-rate seafood companies.

Orkla has agreed to purchase 67% stake in Gorm’s Pizza. The ownership stake may be increased to 100% over a period of time.

Based in Norway, Orkla is a producer and seller of consumer goods, while Gorm’s Pizza is a Danish pizza producer.

Signature International Foods India Private Limited has acquired Aryzta’s 50% stake in Signature Flatbreads Ltd.

Signature Flatbreads is a UK-based joint venture of Signature International Foods and Aryzta’s subsidiary, Honeytop Speciality Foods. The JV company is involved in the production of naans, wraps, and crumpets.

Based in India, Signature International Foods is a producer of bread, while Aryzta is a Swiss producer of bread rolls and artisan loaves.

The transaction will enable Aryzta to concentrate on its frozen B2B bakery business and withdraw from its non-core businesses.

US Highland has acquired TRU-Food Provision in a cash and equity transaction.

US Highland is a franchise development company, while TRU-Food Provision based is a restaurant company providing flatbread sandwiches, wraps and salads. Both companies are US-based.

The acquisition will expand US Highland’s footprint across the southeastern part of the US.
