Mettler Toledo Safeline Boosts Contaminant Detection

Mettler Toledo Safeline has developed an X-ray system that helps detect contaminants in glass containers on food and pharmaceutical lines.

The company said the system can detect foreign bodies in containers even if their walls and bases vary by 20%.

A slat band modular design allows the high-speed handling of glass containers of various sizes.

The design also ensures that slat thickness is uniform and no metal is in the path of X-ray beam.

The 10mm belt combines the X-ray transparency of PU belts and has been designed for high-speed glass container lines with speeds of up to 150m a minute.
