Ajinomoto Invests in Portland Plant

Ajinomoto Frozen Foods USA will invest $12.5m to expand its Portland, Oregon, frozen foods plant.

The announcement followed the news that its fried rice products helped the company triple its revenue in the past five years to around $50m.

The company said it expects to complete an expansion of its rice plant along North Marine Drive by the end of October.

Ajinomoto’s sales have grown from $15m in 2004 to $50m last year and are expected to climb to $60m this year.
