McDonald’s Fails to Show Additive Content

McDonald’s Corporation has failed to release figures relating to the amounts of two food additives contained in Chicken McNuggets sold in China.

The food giant’s Chinese operation would not rule out the possibility that the ingredients could also be found in other items listed on its menu in China.

McDonald’s did say, however, that the amounts of the additives found in McNuggets are within the limits of China’s national standard.

The State Food and Drug Administration has initiated a nationwide inspection on food products suspected of containing the additives, namely the petroleum-based preservative tertiary butylhydroquinone and dimethylpolysiloxane, an anti-foaming agent.
