Garden Fresh Foods recalls ready-to-eat chicken and ham products over Listeria risk

Garden Fresh Foods, based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has recalled approximately 19,054lbs of ready-to-eat chicken and ham products, as they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

According to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), these products are being recalled in association with a recall by the same company of products regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled products that are regulated by the FSIS include Market Pantry All White Meat Chicken Salad, Archer Farms Rotisserie Chicken Salad, Archer Farms Bacon Parmesan Dip, D’Amico and Sons Chicken Salad with Rosemary, D’Amico and Sons Chicken & Dried Cherry Pasta, D’Amico and Sons Ranch Pasta Salad with Chicken, Spinach & Bacon, Finest Traditions Ham Salad Spread, Garden Fresh Ham Salad with Sweet Relish and Weis Ham Salad.

These products feature the establishment number ‘EST. 17256’ or ‘Est. P-17256’ inside the USDA mark of inspection and codes, including 24103, 002216, 99017, 1010254, 101216, 101223, 100240, 100233, 388648, 6163 and 05334.

The recalled products have the UPC codes 0 85239 24103 5, 0 85239 00221 6, 0 85239 99017 9, 0 85239 10125 4, 0 85239 10121 6, 0 85239 10122 3, 0 85239 10024 0, 0 85239 10023 3, 7 33147 10496 5, 0 11596 06164 1 and 0 41497 05334 6.

Affected products were distributed to retail and food service establishments across the country.

The problem was noticed at the facility during microbiological testing by the FDA.

There have been no reported illnesses to date associated with the consumption of these products and consumers concerned about an illness have been advised to contact a healthcare provider.

Classified as Class I, the recall indicates a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product could cause serious, adverse health consequences.
